Our annual Punkin’ Pie and Pecan Pie releases are still months away—and we just couldn’t wait any longer for a phenomenal dessert-style “pie” cigar.
So, of course, we got maniacal about it—sacrificing life and limb, sleep, health, and sanity to make “The GREATEST cigar ever in the Pie Line.”
The backstory for this cigar could only be done justice if I had several hours to regale you with the harrowing tale. We literally searched the world over for an extra-special, extra-chocolatey maduro wrapper.
It's so gorgeous and silky…and it's as gorgeous as it is delicious!
So, without further ado, here comes the best of the best that we’ve ever cooked up—PEANUT BUTTER PIE!
I gotta tell you—the flavors in this cigar are incredible luscious! The intensity of the richness and complexity of flavors are OVERWHELMING!
And if you think that’s “hype”…just wait ‘til you smoke it for yourself!
(Sometimes, I step back and pinch myself, I can’t believe the flavors that we achieve in some of our cigars. It’s like living in a dream—And the fact that we get to do this for a living is quite literally a dream come true. And PEANUT BUTTER PIE was one of those projects—where the sum of the tobaccos was even greater than it’s individual parts!)
As you can tell, PEANUT BUTTER PIE holds a very special place in our heart. And yes, I have some secreted away in my personal humidor. (And no....I'm not gonna share any of it!)
PEANUT BUTTER PIE is a full-bodied, med/full strength 6.25x50 toro extra. Wrapper is a 10-year-aged triple-fermented San Andres maduro. Fillers will remain a very closely guarded secret...but they are all between 7-12 years aged!
First light is an explosion of flavor! Dark chocolate pie crust, sugar cane, toasted nuts, and whipped cream rush across the palate. Hints of peanut brittle, cinnamon stick, and roasted coffee beans follow immediately after. The finish lingers long on the tongue with notes of nutmeg and cream. Retrohale adds a warming black pepper burn.
As it progresses, the age of the tobacco starts to be tasted immediately. The flavor is hard to describe...but it's incredible! Along with that are hints of raw sugar cane, amaretto, and white pepper. A general roasted nuttiness in the blend develops.
Halfway, salted caramel, rich milk chocolate, tanned leather, and roasted peanut emerge. The richness goes up another level. Hints of cocoa, vanilla beans, hazelnut, and clove appear. The balance between sweet and savory is perfect. Amazing!
Last third, the richness and depth of the flavors goes completely off the charts! Huge waves of dark chocolate reappear. Dark brown sugar, peanuts, sweet tea, walnuts, black licorice, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and butter. The last third of this cigar could possibly be the most complex flavors I've ever experienced in a cigar! (I would use a string of expletives to describe how good this cigar is...but my Mom reads these.)
PEANUT BUTTER PIE is rich, decadent, and oh so insanely delicious! We wish we could've made a bigger batch of these for you...but the tobaccos were just too limited and rare!
