It's taken us almost 5 years to get this one just right! This blend had to be meticulously tweaked and changed to get the nuanced flavors and layered complexity we wanted in the IRISH WHISKEY 18 YEAR project!
The result is nothing short of spectacular! It's so luxurious and elegant that it's almost hard to describe!
And notice that this is a “114 Proof“—meaning this is a powerhouse of a cigar!
This is one of the most unique Ezra Zion blends we've ever done!
IRISH WHISKEY 18 YEAR is a gorgeous full-bodied, full-strength 6x52 classic toro. We've procured some very proprietary tobaccos for this blend so we aren't disclosing any of them. But, I can tell you that all tobaccos used are between 5-18 years aged.
First light is an instant wave of dark caramel, leather, and honeycomb. Gentle spiciness of clove, cinnamon, and nutmeg follow. The finish is clean and balanced adding vanilla bean. The retrohale is warming and brings another layer of cinnamon.
As it progresses, coffee beans, heather, white pepper, and raw sugar emerge. Hints of earth, European butter, and dried fruit join the mix. Subtle white chocolate notes on the finish.
Halfway, the blend rounds out and the age of the tobacco shines through. Oak cask wood, heavy whipping cream, and toasted almonds come to the fore. Hickory, anise, and all-spice follow. The finish lingers for several minutes on the palate adding notes of graham cracker and leather. Unbelievable!
Last third is utterly amazing! Cocoa powder, malt, and espresso appear. Hints of floral, cashews, toasted marshmallow, and beer hops. The burn is a razor's edge and the cigar burns cool all the way to the very nub! A masterpiece!
