BEE'S KNEES DARK HONEYCOMB ‘24 is a full-bodied, full-strength 6x50 toro. Wrapper is a dark and oily 12-year-aged Broadleaf Maduro leaf. Binder and filler tobaccos will remain a closely guarded secret. All tobaccos are aged between 6-13 years!
First light is a huge wave of ultra-dark chocolate, raw honey, white oak, and vanilla bean. Espresso bean, aged leather, and clove immediately follow. The retrohale is strong adding a jalapeño pepper burn. The finish lingers on the palate for several minutes adding massive sweet and creamy flavors.
As it progresses, chocolate brownies, nutmeg, and cinnamon stick are added. Cafe latte and toasted nuts appear along with blasts of molasses and black tea.
Halfway the blend begins to "round out" and the flavor of aged tobacco begins to strongly emerge. Massive notes of caramel, mocha, custard, and rum barrel. Hints of graham cracker and amaretto. The finish tastes like chocolate sugar cookies. I don't know how else to say it...This cigar is phenomenal!
Last third, everything crescendos! Bold blasts of cinnamon candy, licorice, sugar cane, red pepper, and butter. Creamed honey, maple, and brown ale. The burn is perfect and the cigar stays cool all the way to the nub!
A word of caution...You will burn your fingers and/or lips on this cigar! It smokes so perfectly down to the nub that it's hard to put down and come to terms with the fact that it's finished. (Trust me...I know from experience!)
